The heart of the Pompeo Mariani Archives © is the collection that has always belonged to the Pitscheider family, the only blood descendants of the painter Pompeo Mariani. The body of this ‘little treasure’ contains works from all periods of Mariani’s career, from the beginning until the very end of his life. This ‘treasure chest’ is the touchstone (along with collections of several Italian public museums) for a correct reading on the authenticity and authorship of his work.
